Pink Berries

Origin: Madagascar, Brazil (10g)
The pink berry is the ripe dried fruit of the Brazilian or Peruvian pepper tree.  Often called the pink peppercorn, these berries are not a pepper and are in fact closer to a cashew than a pepper spice.  They have a slight woody flavour, are fruity and a little spicy.   Their delicate taste works well with desserts, sauces – and they are a lovely addition to gin!
People with tree nut allergies would be advised to avoid pink berries.
