Fenugreek

Fenugreek belongs to the pea family.  Its pods contain more than twenty seeds that are harvested when ripe and then dried.   This small, hard yellow seed which has a tangy, bitter, burnt-sugar flavour is often used in Indian and Middle Eastern dishes.
